Really Bad Chess turns classic chess on its head by randomizing your starting pieces, creating fresh, unpredictable battles every time. The rules stay the same, but openings are out the window, pushing you to rely on tactics, creativity, and board awareness. Play offline single player, climb through tougher AI ranks, and take on daily challenges that feel like quick, satisfying puzzles.
How to play:
- Learn the basics as in standard chess; only the starting pieces are randomized.
- Pick a mode: Ranked for progressive AI, Free Play for casual matches, or Daily Challenge for timed puzzles.
- Scan both armies and identify immediate tactics, hanging pieces, and weak squares.
- Develop and defend: coordinate your unusual piece mix, protect the king, and control key files and diagonals.
- Create a winning plan: simplify when ahead, launch attacks, or race passed pawns to promotion.
- Review the result, adjust difficulty, and replay to master new random setups.
